Line summer junior year I couldn't do a single pull-up, by august I could do 9 and by my CFA time I hit near maxing out. Look up stew smiths pull up push work out on military fitness website. It's a very useful tool. I need to get back into shape now for CBT... Let myself slip over the holidays, my suggestion is work triceps back and biceps a lot. One of the muscle groups often neglected is the abs as well those help a lot with pull-ups. Work on form aswell arch your back inward and they are easier, almost like inclined bench press. If you are looking for "gains" eat 3500 calories a day, if you would like to lose weight and increase pull-ups eat a caloric deficit. Good luck,I'm going to attend SLE in the summer, and pull-ups are tough to make big gains on. I've been making great progress but am only around the 5 mark. I know I'll improve, but I'm just not sure how much before I take the CFA at SLE.
I was hoping for the extra couple months of practice I would get if I took the CFA at the end of August before fall sports, but I'm ecstatic for SLE. Hey, an officer has to adapt to changes in plans anyway right?
