Hey all, I do not know if this information is 100% accurate but I figured it was worth a share. Today the OFC at my detachment said that EA results would be released by March 20th. I am unsure how they verified that information but they shared it with us so I figured I would share it with you guys.

By 20 March does he mean 2 weeks before MAX 1? Take it with a grain of salt. Last year they didn't come out til the last week of the semester.

well he said the reason it took so long last semester was the budget issue in that they couldnt drop the names til the budget was good to go, but the budget for this upcoming year is good to go already so that wont be a reason this time around, although other reasons could arise. Also they release rated slots a day ahead of schedule so that could be a good sign for EA slots.

BoneDust,

Max 1 is not until the end of May. Not getting where you are saying 2 weeks before Max 1.
~ unless that was tongue and cheek.

Lolz777,

Did they force the 200s to sign rated again?
~ Good luck and God speed!

Pima, I am 99% sure that the 200s did not have to sign rated again. I wonder if this was a one time thing?

yep we did, i just signed the form last week. Also I was told this time around it is going to be more favorable to non techs than last year. I think my OFC said they arent doing tech and non tech boards its going to just be a 1 board.

Are you in AFROTC? I am confused now because you are also posting on AROTC!
~ You posted you were wait listed for Project GO AROTC.

Not trying to be mean, rude or offensive, but saying you are 99% positive how AFROTC EA works as an AROTC cadet...well......

Yes, AFROTC. If I have spoken on AROTC matters, that's entirely my mistake -- I can't remember what, though? I have been discussing Project GO as AFROTC, AROTC, and NROTC are all eligible.

Are you a 100?

I am confused.

Not saying I don't believe you, but how is it that 1 detachment had to sign and yours did not.

That being said it is very quiet here regarding SFT/EA

I am interested to see the #s. Less than 1600 was shock and awe last year. % selection date not so much.
~~ Again why candidates should visit every unit if possible.
~~~ Ask %, not #
Our Det had us sign if we were going rated or non rated for EA's again this year.
I am a POC in AFROTC (Project GO accepts all branches). I was 99% sure because I asked my FTPers the other week and they said they did not sign paperwork, but there have been a lot of last minute things happening here, and that may have not been accurate information.
AFROTC 200 here and we DID sign for rated this year. The Colonel sat us down and asked if we wanted an EA and if we wanted to sign for a rated EA. If we are not selected for a rated position the next year we may be investigated for disenrollment. Packets are in tomorrow the 20th. No word on how soon we will get the results.
Last year we were supposed to get results March 22nd, didn't come out until April 22nd, which was 4 weeks before MAX 1 started. Hopefully this years 200's won't have to go through the same wait my class did.
Hello EWII counterpart! I hope we don't have to wait as long. This winter has been long enough already.
Pima...can you explain "force the 200's to sign rated"
thanks
I can explain this a little for you. They don't force anybody to sign rated paperwork. What they do is sit you down and ask you if you would accept an EA if offered one. Then you sign for that portion essentially saying yes. Then they ask if you would like to pursue a rated EA which gives you a little higher chance of being selected. The same thing applies in that signing means yes. If you are not selected for a rated position when the boards meet then you are subject for an investigation of disenrollment.
I think it was pretty much just non-techs that were 'encouraged' to apply for a rated EA. In fact, some/many? Techs that requested a rated slot were declined.
It has been delayed 2 years in a row now. 2013 found out April 11th I believe. At this point don't expect it before April
Sled,
I should have said strongly encouraged, not forced, but it is really semantics that you are talking about. Either you sign or you don't.
Last year there were a lot of cadets signing because they felt it would give them an edge, and historically for years the chance of getting rated was 90-95% nationally. This year with a 76% selection rate, many that were on the fence about going rated may not decide to risk it if they are concerned about that boards results.
Getting disenrolled as a 200 still gives you the chance of going into AROTC, however being disenrolled as a 300 basically closes that option off.
Pima,
I figured you meant strongly encouraged. Personally it does give me an edge still. As you know I am a nontech and even though the rated percentage is 76% it is still much higher than the 20% other nontechs face. Also in my situation I am not able to jump over to AROTC because I've already extended my degree. I agree with you that the techs maybe should be on the fence because the selection rates are around that number anyways.
