I was wondering when the ideal date would be for requesting a nomination for 2020. I understand that it can range from junior to senior year, but are there any specific times that are appropriate? In addition, once applied for a nomination, is our application able to be updated. In other words, could we add accomplishments and ACT scores as they become available, for example? Thanks!

Keep in mind that there is a process (application) for the nomination that is completely separate from the application to the academy. When you talk of updating, you need to to keep in mind that asking on this forum will give you little perspective into your MOC's specific process. Not only is each MOC on a different schedule, they have different requirements that the majority of posters won't know because of your anonymity and there are 535 different MOC. Most won't start accepting nomination applications until the summer time, and then have various deadlines from early fall until the winter. Some have interviews, others don't. Some want you to bring your application in to their office in person, others are happy with it being mailed in. Some will accept updates, others want the packet as a complete submission. Besides searching the web site, you should be talking to the constituents services rep in your MOC's office that handles service academy nominations, and with your FFR as they know the specifics for your district.

My MOC hasn't even updated his site for the class of 2020 yet.
Not surprised. I wouldn't expect to see anything until April or May at least. However, if your MOC won his re-election in 2014, I expect you could get a good idea about their process from the 2019 instructions... just to get a sense of it.

Thanks for the information! I'll be sure to check out the websites to see exact dates. It seems that the consensus is the application for the nomination is a one-time submission, so I'll be sure to make sure that I have everything done by my submission date.
