I've accepted my appointment and was invited to our Founder's Day celebration. I went last year and had a great time: very inspiring.

The only difference is LTG Caslen will be our key notes speaker.

On the same night is my band's banquet an hour away. As our head drum major, I'll be expected to attend, accept awards, and lead our band's closing ceremony.

- Stressing

JMO, go to your band banquet and don't think anything else about it. However, I would send your regrets through the proper channels to whoever invited you to FD.

West Point is 4 long years....don't short yourself on any of your high school experiences, you will be sad that you did. Go to your banquet and enjoy yourself.

Don't stress. Go to your banquet. As Dixieland suggested, just let them know you respectfully decline the invitation due to a prior High School Band commitment. At worse, they put you on bread and water your first week at WP..................(just kidding)

Don't worry about founder's day....DS is invited, but at $75, not going.

Probably, but so far what we have is a forwarded announcement from the parents club, not the official invite from the WP society.

If you're worried about the Supe being there, don't. He'll never remember you. I know that because I worked for him in Iraq and when I ran into him in Philadelphia last year at Army-Navy he didn't know me from Adam. If I can get chewed out on his carpet and not stick in his mind, you won't be remembered.
