Hi, I'm currently a junior at a competitive high school and I was wondering what my chances are of getting into the Air Force Academy. It has been my lifelong dream to attend. My GPA is 3.7 weighted, SAT is 2100, ACT is 31. I participate in lots of service for my community such as wildlife conservation, coaching youth swimming and flag football, and Feed the Hungry drives. I'm on the way to have 6 varsity letters by the time I graduate in cross country, basketball, and track. I participate in lots of clubs in school. My dad is also a retired/disabled USCGA graduate. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

No one can really tell you your chances (especially if you're looking for something quantitative). Just focus on doing the best you can, completing the application, and then just letting the chips fall where they may. I would recommend to continue taking the SAT/ACT just to get your scores as high as possible. Good luck!

I decided at age 7...yes, really. I wanted to fly the F-100...my neighbor, and F-100 pilot said, when asked how he became a "Hun" pilot: "I went to the academy, then Columbus, then Luke." So that was my goal.

I was NOT selected out of high school...and I went to Air Academy High School!! Yes, THAT AAHS!

A year of prep school later...I was accepted to all three of the "biggies."

It can be done if you want it bad enough...as "fencersmother" and Michael Jordan said: "You only miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

GO FOR IT!!

Steve
