Hello all!

Does anybody know how the selection for SLE works? After browsing around, I've noticed that a few people have already been notified about their acceptance. On the 6th of March I found out that I was accepted into the USAFA Summer Seminar, so I am beginning to worry about my SLE application since I haven't heard from the USMA at all . I applied on the 18th of Jan if that makes any difference.

Same here. I applied several weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. My friend on the other hand applied and was accepted in just 48 hours. Unfortunately, I would guess that this means neither of us have been selected to SLE. They haven't rejected anyone yet, I'm guessing they've simply left the people they plan on rejecting "pending". Don't quote me on this though, that's just what I think. Hopefully I am incorrect.

I heard back on getting selected to SLE in about a week; however, I have not heard anything from NASS and I applied in the same day. So my assumption is just that I have not got accepted.

I heard back on March 18th last year on my acceptance to SLE. There is still plenty of time to hear back. Relax. Compared to your waiting for an appointment next year, this is nothing. Control what you can control, because the process is out of your hands now.

Do you remember when you submitted your application?

I would like to reciprocate what vtechroomie1 has said. Just relax and enjoy the time in HS and make sure to keep doing well in and out of school. SLE is a great time and is good to open up your eyes, but if you dont get in, it is not the worst case. It will not hurt your application. Good luck and best of luck on the waiting game!

I wouldn't be worried. I got into all three camps, but I know a few people still waiting to hear back. Think about it this way; the application is open until April, and it's rolling admissions. They don't want to fill every spot right away in case some stud with a 36 ACT or something comes along in the last week.
At least, that's what I would assume the thought process is.
