USNA & USAFA differences

I have been fortunate enough to receive an appointment from both academies; now I am having a hard time deciding which one to choose.
I am potentially majoring in economics, and I am not particularly interested in flying or sailing.
If anyone could give me some major differences that would be fantastic. Any and all comments are much appreciated. Thanks!
 
You could go Navy and hope to branch USMC I suppose, but you better want it.... and there are still those pesky MAGTFs out there somewhere on salt water.
 
@spikeburkard - Have you studied potential service selections at each? Not sure what you mean by "sailing" but if you mean you don't want to be on a ship or in a plane than the options are going to be pretty limited - but you do have options. FYI, here is the service selection breakdown for USNA class of 2015 (as of November):

Seriously? You want to apply to a Service Academy, which by definition is to graduate combat billets, but does have a few billets through a lot of circumstances you can't control, to go medical, IP, or Intel, but don't want to fly or go to sea (I assume that means under the water then?). I would say don't take up a spot for someone who's life dream is to do this. It's actually rather selfish. Go ROTC for a specific billet or OCS. I'm a 1988 graduate of USNA and it bothers me to no end when high school students want to treat a service academy like a regular college and job. You are signing up "to serve" where ever and when ever, with some limited options based upon your "whole person" standing at the end of 4 years of training. It's "the needs of the Navy and Air Force."

At your various interviews, what was the reaction when you said you weren't particularly interested in flying or sailing? What did you say you were interested in? I have to assume you did research before starting the application process, understanding you were obligated to serve in some capacity after SA time.
 
This is an old thread from last year and spike hasn't been around in a while. He probably won't answer.
