DD sent back her acceptance letter and birth certificate to NAPS on 1/23 and has completed the police record check. When do we get further info? Paranoia has set in: was it received, is it lost in transit or on someone's desk, is something wrong?
I'd love to get dates, list of what is needed, etc, so that preparations, travel, and time off from work can be taken care of.

I remember getting more info around April time frame since NAPSters don't report until late July. Don't worry, they haven't forgotten about her.

Bunch of stuff hit portal today (and I mean a bunch) to work on.

Im in the same boat. Sent in acceptance paperwork. Recieved birth certificate back. Now just waiting for that packet to report!

Hey what SAT/ACT did you guys have for prep school? Anything that really stood out on your application?

610 math, 730 English. 2020 total.
1000+ hours community service
6 varsity letters. MOC nom.
HS is in top 10 in nation. 7 APs, all other HS classes honors level.

Guardny,
Im enlisted so 3 years of service so far. NAPS will be my 4th. Good recommendations from officers in my direct chain of command along with good service history etc. But unless you are enlisted kinda useless info to compare to

I'm also enlisted. I have a pretty good service record I think. Other than my commanders endorsement, I wasn't able to get any officers to write a recommendation. Hopefully I'm okay without them

Yea just keep at it and do your job well. Find grads idk what your job is. I work in aviation maintenance so we had a bunch of pilots who were grads at my command and they were happy to answer questions i had and help me along my way. Let me know if you have any questions

Were you 3Q? If not, what area did they say you didn't qualify in?

I suppose it was the math score /math grades, but I don't think they ever say for sure. And I presume not 3Q because then you are ineligible for NAPS. (And CFA and DoDMERB were both passed without any issues, so again, presuming math was the kicker). There was initial disappointment at not receiving a direct appointment, but now very happy for this opportunity....especially after reading all the TWE posts recently.

Naps and foundation are definitely the "golden tickets" for those who don't receive a direct appointment! Both my DS and DD were free agents at a civilian prep with no guarantees, whereas their sponsored friends at the prep had more assurance of their destiny. Congratulations on your DD's appointment to NAPS. It will be a great opportunity to be very prepared for the rigors of USNA.
