I figured instead of posting in the appointment thread us Jiminy Crickets can chat here. My Anxiety hits new levels every time I get an alert in the appointment thread! Does anyone know if the Air Force Academy does an Official wait list that you get notified for?
 
Thank you for starting this thread Va19! We are out of the country for Spring Break and have very limited Wi-fi. When DS or I have the ability to check his portal, we feel jittery. Do we want to know, or do we want to wait until we get home?! Tough call. Still crickets in our part of VA as far as we can tell.
 
Chirp, chirp, chirp here. If your portal still says "candidate," you are sell in the hunt. It does look like another batch of appointments went this week. What I have no idea about is whether or not MOCs were notified first, like before. If that is the case, then the portal should be updated mid next week.
 
We all fear the worst and hope for the best. A solid plan B should always be in place but continuing the dream should never stop. OCS is always there! If my DS does not get in this year he will try again. He is in a 4 year college now and will just continue his journey to see where it takes him. With that being said it is still stressful because like your kids he wants it pretty bad. At least we have each other right now to chat with.
 
Just got to a hotspot and am able to look at the forum for a few minutes.
DS admitted this morning that he's very grateful he's got a solid plan B in place (VTCC w/ AFROTC scholarship as well) but he's still hoping for positive news from USAFA. Maybe after we get home to VA?!
Sending positive thoughts and good wishes to everyone still waiting!

That's the only one we've heard of as well. There are two other girls at our high school that are going to USNA AND USMA but nothing so far for USAFA. They did not apply for AFA.
 
Still nothing here in Oregon. Not a yes or a no. I think it is time my stepdaughter accept one of her other colleges. This is a very interesting way to run a college program.
 
Anyone have any predictions for another release date this week? Or maybe all appointments are out?
 
I think what's happening now is they are waiting and I could be wrong for people to accept or decline. I feel a majority of the appointments have gone out. They need to let the dust settle to see how many appointments are left. I am still unclear if anyone has actually received a TWE or if they just wait and send them all out on April 15. Again I am speculating but from reading other post it sounds like that is what is happening! .

No TWE here in AZ from USAFA, but my DS did get one from USNA last week. He never finished his application because he didn't get a nomination. No word from USMA either.
 
We are trying to focus on other things but this wait is terrible. Back up plans already in place. :confused:
