Hey I am a Freshman in High School. I want to go through Army OCS or AF OTS when I graduate? What can I do to improve my chances? What is the acceptance rate and stats of average candidate? How competitive is it? Does my major matter?

You are too far out for anyone to give you odds in my opinion. That is 8 years from now. Nobody in 1993 could have predicted 9/11.

Curiosity question.

Why are you asking about OCS/OTS as a 15 year old? Why aren't you investigating the ROTC scholarship program to pay for college or the Service Academies?

Why pay for college on your own dime and owe back the same amount of time in the military when you could have the military pay for college and get additional training during your summer breaks?

Did you mean freshman in college? Based on your previous posts about being an AFROTC 100....

Yeah, I made a mistake. Sorry I typed this from phone. God I have to realize I'm in college now.

You are still two years out before you can apply. AF holds two separate boards twice a year (rated or nonrated). Your chances will vary depending on which board you are applying for PLUS the needs of the AF regarding manpower. A few years back they had canceled one of the nonrated boards because they did not need it from a personnel perspective. Also if you want to go rated, there have been years that very few pilot slots were awarded. The ones that were went to either prior enlisted or those with a PPL. The theory for the prior Es was because there is an age limit and some were creeping up on when they figured the delay to report to OTSand then the wait to start UPT.
