My son was accepted to session 2 yesterday, but he will be at SLE that week. So, he called admissions and asked to be changed to session one or three. He was told the best they can do is waitlist him for session three. He sadly agreed. He has wanted to attend NASS for years, but didn't want to back out on his commitment to SLE. Anyone know how often kids are pulled from the waitlist? Hopefully a lot!! Thanks.

In hindsight I should have had him call and let them know he couldn't do session 2 when he accepted SLE....

@anneluck Congratulations on your son being accepted to both summer programs! From what I've read, there is some movement off the waitlist but it's usually pretty late. Good luck! We're still waiting to hear from NASS, did you receive an email yesterday? Thanks.

Does this mean that they are out of spots to offer now? Still waiting to hear back about NASS.

Just got a waitlist email today. Don't know how much longer I can wait for a yes/no!

For which session, jculligan? So, my son was waitlisted for STEM a few years ago and was accepted. my daughter was waitlisted for STEM last year and not accepted. How's that for 50/50?

Keep in mind that NASS attendance is fun and cool - but has on bearing on your competitiveness for an appointment. DS was rejected from NASS and received an appointment.

I was waitlisted too. I only applied for Session 1, but I contacted the admissions counselor and changed my availability to Session 2.
Hopefully, that will increase my chances of getting accepted. :)

I don't know if they are out of spots but I felt like I had a very qualified app and got rejected about a week ago
