I have been accepted to the North Georgia University ROTC . I did not make the decision until after submission for scholarship deadlines had passed unfortunately. Is there any thing I can do to still receive aid for this fall.

No. You have to start as a college programmer (Nrotc term) and then you work really hard to impress your unit and hopefully you'll win an in-school scholarship. Typically though, they are not retroactive. Good luck!

P.S. you probably should not use your real name on a internet message forum.

I am not sure when the deadline is for FAFSA but that would be something to look at, you can also check with the Financial Aid Dept. at NGU.

As Navymom said there are no options from ROTC at this time other then working hard towards a Battalion scholarship offer once you start ROTC.

EDIT: So I saw that you posted on another board this same question. I have a question, when you say you made your decision late, do you mean you were originally offered a scholarship but you did not accept the scholarship by the deadline date.

Or....

Did you not apply for a scholarship by the application deadline.

I decided to join the ROTC after the deadline to submit for the scholarships. I have done the FAFSA and have receive the Georgia Hope for help but nothing more. the only awards other than that are loan offers and I don't want to start off like that but know my parents can't do this entire bill.

Many Universities will offer instate tuition to out-of-state NROTC College Programmers. Something to look into if you are not a Georgia resident.

EDIT: just saw your Georgia Hope for Help comment. I'm guessing that means you area GA resident.

I think your are at the end of the road. If the college cannot do anything more then you either need to take the loans or mom and Dad need to pony up. Sorry to be a downer but that's all I got. I suppose you might try calling admissions and see if they can scrounge something more up but I wouldn't be too hopeful at this date.

ROTC scholarships at UNG are competitive. But it never hurts to call cadet admissions. Post a couple more times and I can PM you more info.
