About two weeks ago, it showed up online that I had received a nomination from Senator Klobuchar to the AFA. Today, I got a letter from Klobuchar saying I DID NOT receive a nomination. I am assuming (and hoping) the letter is the mistake. I'm going to call the office on Monday.

Thats confusing.... :confused::confused:

Tagged for impending hilarity (hopefully at the expense of the congresscritter rather than Roman). :bleh2:

I just got off the phone and apparently the letter was a mistake, something to do with someone else having a similar name. Ironically, today I received a letter from the AFA that said they had received the nomination. I'm happy. :smile:

ok this post is a little old but im in the same situation. it says on my usna student page that a nomination has been received back in january. Does that mean i have the nomination or that they got the application from my MOC? We have contacted his office and they say once my physical goes through maybe they'll know. That doesnt make any sense to me.

That doesn't make any sense. If you call your MOC, there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to tell you that you have a nomination. Since it shows up on the website, don't worry because at least USNA believes you have a nomination.

ok so when the first sentence in that section says these are your nominations received to date, they seem to think or say i have the nomination? Cause that would be a huge relief if its true. I'd only need my medical after that

Hi, It means you have a nomination from your MOC. It does not mean you have an appointment yet. The pieces all have to come together: academically, physically, and medically qualified, plus MOC nomination. Then the admissions board decides whether to offer you an appointment or not. Good Luck!!! You are doing great with having a nomination, that is a huge hurdle. There maybe clearer answers on the forum, just wanted to clear up the fact that nomination is a very important part, but to go to USNA you will need an "appointment."
