Where do you take the nrotc scholarship PT test?

It's usually taken right after the interview which normally occurs at a recruiting station or a recruiting district headquarters. At least that's true for Marine option... not sure about Navy option but I expect it would be the same.

For Navy Option, we had a Physical Education teacher administer the test. DS had to bring the scoring sheet with him to his interview.

I heard there are people who actually cheat on their PT test. Is that true?
Not clear how one could do that since it's monitored. I suppose it's possible the monitor wouldn't be good at checking form, but that would only apply to Navy Option. Since a Sgt is monitoring the Marine Option PT i'm certain their monitoring of form is accurate.

I know this person who ended up not getting the scholarship but he had a friend who was a coach and he didn't actually do the physical fitness test. The coach just signed the paper.

I'm glad he did not get the scholarship then, if that is the type of integrity he displays. I had not heard of anybody "cheating" on these tests, but I guess you have given an example of this. If somebody can't do minimal physical requirements for NROTC or any ROTC program, they won't be enrolled in the program very long. I think the Physical Fitness Test used for the application is not weighted heavily, so somebody does not need to kill it to get a scholarship. With that in mind, it makes me sad to think somebody would feel the need to cheat on it.

I thought when they said cheating as in the form was incorrect, but the proctor counted it.

Swampertness: you asked if cheating on the PT test occurred and yet you had awareness that it had. Not sure what response you were looking for.

Live your life with integrity and don't worry about what others do. People who game the system are the first to get washed out.

Absolutely, positively agree with USMCGrunt.

Let's assume they don't get caught for submitting a falsified exam. The thing is you can't contract until you pass the PFT when you get to the college.

There are many cadets that don't cheat and once at their unit, they still bust the PFT. Why impo? Because they bust their hump training to max the PFA, but as soon as they submit it, they knock off the training. If not at that time, than they rationalize in their mind that this is "their last summer" and don't train all summer long. Even if they play LAX in the spring, they are not going to be up to par after 4+ months of hanging out playing Xbox.

Additionally, it maybe my age, but one thing I have learned in life, is those that cheat the system, tend to have loose lips and brag about it later on. That tends to place them under the microscope without ever knowing they are being watched for one slip to the left or the right off the path. They (cadre) will take it as hearsay, but they will watch to see if there is any truth to the story, and it can impact their life regarding future actions.

Agreed. Good thing we aren't friends anymore.

As has already been pointed out (I think), a coach and phys ed instructor may administer. Also, a JROTC instructor (any service) and an Admissions Liaison Officer (USAFA position) or other service academy equivalent may administer.
