How could getting high As in a class be bad? Is college prep A biology a really low level class or something?

Well no the way my school goes is we have AP, Honors, College Prep A, then B, then C, then General. But a lot of kids in my grade are in chemistry right now and they took biology as a freshman

What could occur is that if your peers are taking courses that are weighted, and yours are not weighted, then they could potentially have a higher grade point average which places them higher than you in class ranking. Class ranking matters, so it depends on how your school ranks you in your class. Is the College Prep A a weighted class? In my DD's high school, the more AP courses you take, the higher possible class ranking, because her school uses weighted classes in their calculations. She also took Psychology and Government at a local college in the summer, which doubled as satisfying high school/state requirements and bumping her gpa since they were weighted.
