Saw this movie recently on HBO OnDamand. It is about the escorting of a fallen Marine home. I think it is worth the watch; a positive change to see for those of us who, back in the day, had to wade through hippies protesting the Vietnam War in order to attend high school.

Taking Chance, not Chase.

The fallen Marine's name was PFC Chance Phelps. (posthumously promoted to LCpl).

It's a true storywritten by the escort, LtCol Mike Strobel.

It is an awesome movie. Which reminds me that I need to get my copy back from DS.

Would a mod please correct the title of this post to Taking Chance. Thanks.

Its a must see movie. Kevin Bacon did a great job in my opinion.

One St. Patrick's Day in NYC several years ago, I saw several Marines exiting a "restaurant" after they had marched in the parade in uniform . They were very young looking, (must have just turned 21;)) but the rack of ribbons/medals each wore was impressive to say the least. They looked so young and evidently had seen so much... Couldn't describe them further as they were surrounded by females and appeared to be holding their own despite being outnumbered, a Marine tradition I understand!
