Upon scheduling classes for upcoming school year, we did not realize that we needed Honors chem prior to the planned AP Chem. So Honors it is and I feel like its not adequate. Here's what the year looks like:
AP US history AP US history
Pre-Cal Spanish 4
Honors Eng 3 Journalism 3
Honors Chem Weight lifting (football)

Thoughts?

Honors is a prerequisite for AP Chem at most schools, it's in no way inadequate since most take AP Chem their Senior year anyways. Your schedule looks very similar to mines this year, if you replace Spanish with AP French and Eng with AP Lang.

You're overthinking it. I took zero AP courses in high school. All my courses were either regular (CP1 in the Rhode Island school system) and Honors. It's not solely your academic workload that the admissions board looks at. They want to see how well-rounded of an individual you are. I'd go so far as to say you've got a let up on me on the academic side of the house from when I was in your shoes in high school. Aside from the academics and varsity checks in the box, see if you can get involved with a few extracurriculars too. All in all, Honors Chem is NOT inadequate. You're doing fine. Just keep on keepin' on and best of luck

Talking about how well-rounded of an individual you can be, how can that be achieved?
