I hear mobile service is somewhat spotty in Bacroft. Should we bring Plebe a land line phone at PPW?

Verizon seems to work pretty well. Never had a problem.

DD is planning on getting her own phone plan but is unsure as to which service is the best and the amount of data she'll use during Plebe year. Any suggestions? Also, do any providers give military discounts?

Don't know if anyone uses the land line phones (or if they even work) in Bancroft anymore, just make a short run outside to make a call

All depends on where in Bancroft the mid is as to whether you get service (we have T-Mobile as well). A blue tooth helps (leave the phone on the window sill) and OOVOO is also a good option.

Land lines don't work in Bancroft and honestly wouldn't change services due to coverage. Each wing has different ranges of coverages and 1st Regiment traditionally has worst service than 2nd Regiment. Either way good service can be found within 20 yard outside.

Don't even have to go outside.

Take the (at most) forty second walk to the nearest breezeway or ladderwell. Not sure how it works (barely passed Physics), but service is always much better there.

Rooms in 6th wing specifically seem to have outstanding service. Hope for Co. 21-25, I guess.

Wardrooms have civilian WiFi now. Skype and whatever else you please should work on those.

Wasn't sure if Plebes were allowed to talk on breezeways/ladderwells/hang out in the wardroom during the week? Only been gone 2 years, but maybe things have changed

Breezeway should be fine... maybe a ladderwell if it's not a youngster ladderwell. Probably not a wardroom. If someone actually cares hopefully they can find some new things to care about.

Really just the breezeway. Having a phone conversation in a ladderwell isn't really ideal for anyone unless it's 2 in the morning.

Wardroom is for upperclass, but they won't be plebes forever. Having civilian WiFi is a game-changer overall.
