Can anyone shed some light on the AFROTC ICSP process? Here are some specific questions?
1. When are the cadets nominated in Phase 1 informed by the detachment that they've been selected for a scholarship?
2. Are the nominated cadets in a detachment competing only with fellow cadets in that detachment based upon command's rank-ordering, or do they compete in a "national pool" such as the high school scholarship applicants do?
3. Does each detachment get a set number of scholarships each year and then fill these based on nominees' rank order?
4. Can nominations be submitted to AFROTC HQ without DoDMERB qualification?
5. Is priority given to technical majors -- as in the high school process?

I would suggest that you call Maxwell and talk to somebody there they can give you the detailed answers you need. I know in our DS's det a couple of the freshman that were not scholarship applied this yr and I they had it completed by Xmas break. Our friends son at OU also did his as a freshman (currently on scholarship as a soph), he found out around April. You will need to take the AFOQT, I believe they do it in October

Good advice. Think I'll give Maxwell a call. The nomination is in -- AFOQT passed satisfactorily, and DoDMERB qualified after remedials, and detachment command has had positive things to say. Guess we're just anxious to hear.
