The big night is here for the Class of 2009. Cadets will learn of their initial assignments for their first two-year tour. Along the way they will have a beer or two and smoke the traditional cigars(including the women!). This is a fun tradition which usually takes place at the O club but this year is at Leamy due to renovations at the former facility. Have fun guys and gals! :thumb:

I didn't smoke, but Billet Night is one of the most exciting nights while you're at CGA. I have never been more nervous than I was that night. Feels good after you finally find out though.

Good luck cadets!

Lots of new covers (ball caps) will be worn tomorrow I guess, the exchange should do a brisk business with the firsties showing off their new cutter assignments.

Hey Boss, what's the boy got on his wish list?

Will be awaiting the good news Boss! Let us know the nano-second you do! Best of luck to all & here's hoping they don't catch themselves on fire with their giant stogies.

My son has the CGC Diligence, coincidentally pictured on my avatar, as his first choice. 210 based in Wilmington, NC. Next comes Seattle and any one of a couple or three different cutters.

Cool SEATTLE! within walking distance to see Mariners and Seahawks!!

Steve just got word...he will be on the CGC Midgett out of Seattle. He had been going back and forth between Seattle and NC as his top choices but I think this was deep down where he wanted to go. So I have to change my avatar...ha ha.

Congratulations! It must be so good to know where he'll be heading!

Thank you for sharing the news with us!

Sounds like we'll have a small contingent up in the NW soon....I'll be headed to Whidbey in the not too distant future.

Congrat's to all the CG Firsties who have selected their first assignments....a huge step in the beginning of many careers.

haha tonight has been so awesome

'grats to all 09ers

Heartfelt congrats to Boss's son including our dear friend Boss as well!! Gotta love such a great start to his career. Hope all had an awesome night last night!

HA HA thanks Luigi for being so artistic.

Thanks to JM and the others. The four years flew by fast and now we know what the immediate future holds. He is excited and looking forward to Seattle. Thanks too to JC for the offer of hospitality. The great Northwest beckons.

He also has three classmates coming up including a good friend from the crew team. It should be fun.
