NANTUCKET LIGHTSHIP

Berth it at Mass Maritime where students could maintain it for free as part of their regular duties. Save a lot of money for the foundation and still a tourist attraction.

That's a good idea. I have a classmate friend at Ft. Schuyler (RADM Michael A. Alfultis-President) and others that could help make something like that happen. Any particular reason it would be best at Mass Maritime?

Okay, I'll talk to a few people and float the idea of Buzzards Bay.

"float the idea"... i get it!

"It's the most historically valuable lightship in the world". Nice if it is maintained by Mass Maritime students as a training vessel rather then resting in a backwater of Boston Harbor.

perhaps the Patriots Point Museum Charleston would be interested, they recently lost the USCGC Ingham to a new maritime museum in Key West. I just toured the lightship Chesapeake in Baltimore last weekend.
