Literally just finished my pft. Here are the scores

Push-ups: 71
Curl-ups: 87
Run: 7:07

How'd i do?

Look at the charts and add it up. You are missing the waist component.

I think your score looks great! My son had similar scores for his app.

Well considering 71 push ups scores you 100pts and 78 sit-ups scores 100pts on the regular APFT I would say you did well in those events.
The 7:07 in the mile run is a little slow. From what I remember your run time should be in the low 6 min's.

Also remember that this will be the last time you do the ROTC version and from here on it will be 2 mins and a 2 mile run, and your form on the push ups and sit up's (not curl ups) will be very important.

Ok thank you. I know my captain has consistently drilled form into me. He said it kills a lot of people for their 1st actual pft. I hope if i get the scholarship my college is similar in form regulation as my current njrotc unit.

Also keep in mind that the physical fitness is just a small part of the application, so make sure you are strong in the other categories too.

As far as form, once you get to college some of it depends on the person doing the scoring. DS did one fitness test that his scorer was an MS-IV that didn't think younger cadets should score higher than him. Every cadet he scored had low push-up scores compared to previous tests.

Good luck on the scholarship and with college. Make sure you have a plan B.

To my knowledge, from the oml score charts, the physical assesment is worth 11% of total score.. Is this information incorrect?

Yes rugby mom the push and sit were 1 minute each. Not gonna lie it was brutal and I've been doin 300 push ups and sit ups a day for weeks to get to those numbers

Those scores look good. DS just did his and achieved 66 push-ups, 70 sit-up s and 5.50 mile. I think it is a very small portion of the overall score. 11% seems high but I have no idea.

Zachleigh,
Yes my son did receive a 3 year scholarship upgraded to a 3.5 last year. He consistently does well on the apft (330) normally which has helped him stand out. Keep up the good work!

To me, your numbers seem high. My DS is a 3 year scholarship winner. He took his test at the university he hoped to attend. His run was @6:06. Pushups in the 40s and sit ups in the 50s. He is doing well in his battalion and passed his pft.
