The last board turned me down, but said I ranked high enough to go to the next board. Now Ive just got this -

Your application met the board and you were not selected for a scholarship. You will be receiving written confirmation via mail within the next few weeks.

I guess that means It is over :frown:

I don't get what happened. I had good stats, tech major, a good interview... Guess it just wasn't enough.

Goodluck to the rest of yall! :thumb:

Maybe it's not over yet. The Boards meet one more time the end of March/first of April. From what I've heard, any left over scholarships may be handed out during this last Board.

Don't give up until you receive the official word that your application won't be reviewed for the next Board. And even then, don't give up totally because you still could get an in-college scholarship.:thumb:

Typically, if your status doesn't say that your application will meet the next board, you were not among the selectees for the High School Scholarship Program for this cycle.

But the In College Scholarship Program is a great option. Since you're a tech major, you may be able to score an Express Scholarship if your major is in one of the needed disciplines. These are "fully qualified" scholardhips -- which means that your application doesn't have to meet a board. Further, the scholarship can activate during the term of nomination. If you're a good candidate, have the right major and want it bad enough, the opportunity is there. Check out the info here http://www.afrotc.com/scholarships/incolschol/expressSchol.php.

Other excellent options are the Historically Black College or University (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institutions AFROTC scholarship programs. These are fully qualified as well, meaning that those who meet the qualifications (race is not one) are awarded the scholarship and do not have to meet a scholarship selection board. If you're enrolled in one of the 7 schools in the Enhanced HBCU or 5 Enhanced HSI programs, you could qualify for a 3 1/2 year scholarship. Get details at http://www.afrotc.com/scholarships/incolschol/minority.php

And best of luck to you. Keep at it.
