Hello, I'm an Army Reserve soldier who wishes to apply for SMP/Army ROTC. I'm going to pursue my master since I've already got my bachelor last year. So, I'm going to sign a contract exactly as MS3 cadet and doing ROTC for 2 years. I'm thinking only about Reserve not Active after commissioning.

My concern is my age. Is it possible to do SMP/ROTC and get ROTC scholarship, ROTC monthly living allowance, and/or GRFD funds if you are older than 30 years limit? I don't clearly understand how things will work in my particular case.

Is it OK if I finish my master after 2.5 not 2 years, maintaining a full-time student status all the time?

What will happen with a money bonus I received when enlisted in Army Reserve (bonus for choosing particular MOS)? I read online that my bonus will be eliminated if I sign a contract with ROTC. Is it true? What will be if I get funds through GRFD, I mean should I pay back part of my bonus I get after basic training or not?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I think you should talk to the ROO at the school you plan to attend for your master's degree.

Thank you DanGir! I haven't decided yet which particular school to choose. I have several options depending on financial situation and acceptance rate. So I try to ask on forum first.
