Sample senator interview questions?

My son has his first of two senatorial interviews tomorrow. Any tips or probable sample questions would be appreciated. I can drill him on the 2 hour drive over.

I'm a retired firefighter and remember my interview to get hired and the trick questions and scenarios they threw at you to see if you could think on your feet. Anything like that?
 
The standard are usually asked. Why a certain SA/service? What do you want to do when you graduate? What do you want major in? They could ask about sample pressure situations, integrity situations or things like that. Asking what would you do and give me a sample situation in which you did X. Look in the Nom
Section at old threads and some folks have posted this kind of stuff. More than anything poise and confidence will be looked at. If they do get a stump question, nothing wrong with with a slight pause to get a thought together.
 
How about, I see your classmate X has applied, what makes you more qualified than them...
 
Please make sure your son has a firm handshake. The 'dead fish' handshake leaves a bad impression.

Navy Hoops I wanted to thank you also for your input on playing D1 ball and the time requirements involved. Sine my son will never play for the NBA and is more interested in academics, I think it's best he concentrate on that. Your input was very helpful, thank you.
 
"Why do you want to serve in the United States Army?" This was the first thing my grad was asked.

JMHO, I would not spend the 2-hour drive to the interview drilling your son. He should practice and rehearse well in advance of the interview. Use the ride there to just enjoy being together and don't arrive with your son a bundle of nerves. Encourage him to ask for help from his guidance counselor, English teacher, history teacher, ROTC instructors, etc., by scheduling a time to do a mock interview with them. My USMA grad is not a talker and his preparation before the interview was invaluable.
 
While we are on the topic of interviews, I will add my opinion on what to wear.....I think this is an important occasion that calls for a coat and tie. I am also not a fan of khaki pants for the interview. I know some folks are fine with just shirt and pants but I believe you should dress for the importance of the event. Coat, tie, dress pants, SHINED shoes----it worked for my grad!

Like I said...just my opinion.
 
To add on to the clothing part, wear neutral job interview colors (navy blue black gray etc.) no bright orange, red, neon green colors or outlandish patterns. It will draw negative attention
