With all going on in the world...just wondering if contracted AFROTC cadets can be called to active duty. I have no problem with this if it is the case, just wondering.

Thanks

I believe only during wartime and it's only if you volunteer, and of course you have to be qualified. At least that is for the Senior Military College's, so I'm not sure about your situation. :/

And you got that information where?

As an ROTC cadet, you won't be pulled from school to active duty unless a lot (like a lot more than what currently is) is going on. Your job for your respective branch is school and developing as a leader to replace those of us currently filling the positions you will when you commission. Until that point, to be honest, you're not really useful as it takes time to develop.

Agree with Bull. You would need to see something like the mass mobilization of WW II for something like that to occur.

I agree with the above posters. If you look at even Gulf I and the early part of Gulf II, they did not pull cadets.

Now, that being said, I don't know how it would work for those cadets that are also enlisted with a guard unit. However, for the traditional cadet I doubt they will see any impact at all, except for maybe class discussions.

My understanding is enlisted guard members who are enrolled in college and part of ROTC are deployable until they are contracted with their ROTC units as SMP cadets. Once contracted, they are not deployable, unless they drop out of ROTC.
