Going to AIM session 3 July 19th
What are your lessons learned from session 1& 2 attendees to pass on to session3ers? Flying in from VA. Any suggestions on Best flight times in and out? Appreciate hearing your experiences!

I attended in 2014 (Week 2). Don't bring a bathrobe, you don't need one, let alone have time to use it. Also, you are given time deadlines for everything and the only way to meet those is to help your shipmates out, even for showers. We had guys yelling out the time every 20-30 seconds or so. Your company will become a unit by the end of the week. Candidly, when you report, your company is merely a group of individuals, but don't worry, like I said above, everyone will figure it out. Also, remember to try to do well in everything. The Cadre have to evaluate each AIMster and that evaluation makes it to Admissions if you do end up applying. Lastly, have a sense of humor and embrace everything from AIM. I am not exaggerating when I say that this program really lets you know if a military academy is right for you. We had a lot of kids in my Company wanting to go to a Military Academy (All 5 represented). Some left knowing that a Service Academy was right for them, others left knowing that they would prefer a less intense military/civilian education. Both are perfectly fine. I keep in touch with a lot of my company still and the spread was 1 going to USCGA (she earned a Letter of Assurance and was a recruited athlete), 1 going to USAFA, some of us are doing commissioning programs (ROTC, SSOP, etc.) and the rest are pursuing a civilian education. Have fun!

I'm from Northern Virginia and I'm attending session 3. I'm flying out of DCA at 8:30am on the 19th and arriving to BDL at 10:00. Getting to USCGA early, but enough time to look around and get familiar.

Is there time to put in and take out contacts or should you wear glasses. The guide says to bring sheets what about a pillow?

I haven't been to AIM but I read in another post that you can wear contacts but you don't have much time in the morning to put them in and sometimes dirt can get in them so it's easier to just wear glasses

I'm in northern VA. If I'm flying to CGA, I take BWI to PVD on Southwest.

I would wear glasses because you have a very small amount (if any) time to put them in. I believe you need to bring a pillow.

Leaving tomorrow from dulles to bdl arrive at 0930. Meet u at baggage claim

Dulles to Bradley? The crappiest airport to fly out of in DC to the least direct airport in CT. In the future, if you make the trip again, I think you'll find BWI to PVD much more enjoyable.

You will take it on the Thursday of your AIM Session. You have to score at least 130 to use it for your application. If you are satisfied with your PFE score at AIM, then you can just request your scores to be used in your application.
