I've searched the forum, but was unable to find what I was looking for. Do any of you know roughly how long it takes after an interview with your congressman to find out if you received a nomination or not? The day of my interview, my congressman, 16th district Illinois, said he makes his decision the night of the interview and after the interview he said, "You'll be hearing from me soon." I know I need to be patient, but I'm so eager! Thanks guys.

Every congressman is different. Don't worry, it will come soon (or at least by Jan. 31 :)

Lesak, check your portal. My DD did not hear directly from her MOC, but her portal showed the nomination the next day. She received an official letter in the snail mail about 10 days later. Hang in there.

Check your congressman's website it should be listed. For me it came in the mail a few days after my interview (FL District 3 Representative) but my senators have the dates December 16 and 18th as days that notices begin being sent out

Just received an email this morning stating that I have earned a nomination to USAFA from my representative. I do not know what kind, whether principal or not, but if it is a principal nomination, am I ALMOST guaranteed an appointment? I still don't quite understand how it works.

Good to hear it man! I'm not exactly sure how it works either but from my understanding, a nomination only puts you into another national pool to be selected by USAFA for an appointment. All it is is a weeding out process. By no means is anyone "almost guaranteed" an appointment unless they are fully qualified and offered an appointment. It ain't over til the fat lady sings.

Principal nominations are very good things, as long as you are fully qualified. Hope it's a principal! Congrats and best wishes!

Congratulations on nabbing the NOM. Hope it lands you in the USAFA class of 2020!
