College Student (Waiting until January Decision?)

Hi, I am currently a community college student first year and I project since finals are close that my grades are for the following courses (this is my last item for my application):

Calculus 2: A
Ethics in Literature: A
Chem 101: A
Physics Calculus Mechanics: B+
I also have 760 math/700 critical/680 writing

Started my application Day 1 the application portal was available after preapp. Finished everything early (pretty sure it does not affect any early decisions/offers since no college transcript). I'm a little hesitant and uncertain what the near future for my application may hold since I would be put off by the board until January/Feb. Hearing all the high school seniors receiving LOAs and early nominations, I can't help to think how many spots there are for specifically college students. Admissions sent a letter early in the process to not worry that the college transcript may be missing since it is only released for most colleges at the end of the semester. I think I also read Co2019 had about 60 post high school grads appointed. My situation is the same for my West Point application where I have a LOE.

So in all, my questions are:
1. Are college students limited to appointments compared to other applicants?
2. Are offers ranging from LOAs to prep school/Foundation still possible?

To my knowledge there is no limit on the number of college students that receive appointments. Yes, LOAs and prep school offers are still available. Don't even worry about an LOA, it's a waste of time as they are so few and far between.

kimmem is spot on....concerns about LOA's will sap your energy and aren't worth your time to think about (the LOA's and nominations you refer to currently are small numbers). Instead, know that in the last of couple of classes over 300+ appointments went to those candidates who had at least one year or more of college.

As noted, they won't review you until those transcripts are in hand and along with the overwhelming majority of all candidates, you won't hear about your status starting in January then through the early spring. Focus on controlling what YOU can...finish strong in your very good courses and your other activities to complete the very best application you can.

These next 90 to 120 days are the toughest on many because we now get into the heart of the "waiting game". Don't become discouraged and try not to fret, the patience that you need to hone and learn will serve you well going forward...it's early...enjoy the last few weeks of school, embrace the holiday time of year, relax and if you can look yourself in the mirror and say "I've done my very best in this endeavor" then you're in good place and it will play itself out.

Also remember that approximately 30% of the last few incoming plebe classes have been people who have one or more post-high-school years of education. For the class of 2019, that figure was 32% - a full one in three plebes. Some of those 32% were Foundation (59) and some were NAPSters (219), but that means 102 - 9% - of 2019's plebes came from self-prep, civilian colleges, and SMCs. None of those post-high-school candidates are boarded until after Admissions receives their first-semester college/postgrad grades. So keep doing what you know you need to do to complete your file, fuhgeddabout the LOA, and update Admissions as your data changes (like if you earn an A in Physics!)

As difficult as it may be, embrace the wait...it will be here before you know it. Finish what you need to finish and go have some fun!

I really appreciate the positive advice! Just finished my interviews and all my interviewees were from last year.

Embrace the wait is great advice and having the same interviewees is good, IMHO.
