Some basic ROTC questions

Hello everyone. I am currently a junior in high school and I wish to attend ROTC in college, hopefully on a scholarship. I have been doing a lot of research lately, and I have a few basic questions:
1) When doing your PFA, is your examiner supposed to be someone from that branch of ROTC?
2) For the interview process of the application, are you supposed to make contact with your interviewer first or will you be contacted?

Sorry if these questions seem basic to some people, but I have had trouble locating the answers. Thanks for reading.

My son's PFA was administered by his JROTC instructor, a retired Army Major. I believe it can also be administered by a coach or PE instructor at your high school.

My son was given a list of local AROTC people too contact for an interview. He ended up interviewing at a local college.
