Hello everyone, I just found out that I got my nomination from my congresswoman. In addition, I also received a 3Q Letter on Dec 1. From there, I am wondering when will the West Point admissions team make appointments and what will happen when I got my 3Q letter and nomination? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you!

They have already started making a relatively small number of appointments. 3Q with a nomination (and no LOA) probably means you won't hear anything until March or April, right along with the vast majority of applicants. You still have to be the "winner" of your slate and further applications aren't due until 1/31 and they may need to give others a chance to complete their applications.

Congrats, @deltapapa.

My son just checked portal and discovered 3Q letter dated Dec 10. Two nominations so far. Just was accepted early action at an Ivy League school but waiting to hear from USMA before accepts. The letter said they won't send acceptances out until after late Feb.

Just curious if having four nominations help? I have ROTC, Presidential, House of Rep, and Senator. I am 3Q as well dated October 23.

It helps in the sense that you have 4 slates that you have a chance to be appointed from. It doesn't help in the sense "WOW! This kid has 4 noms. We better well appoint him."

By "winner" you mean principle nomination? Or the one the academy chooses, or both? I have seen the term "winner" on here before and it makes me curious.

Either... by "winner" I mean whichever applicant gets an appointment regardless of "how".
