Well, I was just wondering what my chances are? I have been real good.

I do my best, and I rank in the top 10% of the dads out there. (Unofficial. My family doesn't rank)

I score well in the home improvement category, but was signicantly below average in the dishwashing and garbage duties.

I have a lot of extracurriculars and I watch a lot of military shows on TV. Should I put that in my application?

I love animals. Off topic, but can you have a puppy at the academy? I hope so. If not, it's not a dealbreaker, I'll get a cat.

My cfa was pretty bad, but I plan to retake it if necessary. I broke the bar doing a flexed arm hang. When it gets fixed I'll try again. Oh yeah, is arthritis a waiverable condition?

I know you're all busy with Christmas (or "the holidays" if you're offended) coming up, but I'd like to know what you think my chances are of getting something nice from Santa this year. I may have been a little naughty. Thanks!

Maplerock...as you are aware, no one on this forum can really 'chance you' unless we were members of your household. At first blush, you have some things going for you but I might suggest more of an effort on your domestic duties and your CFA might warrant a few more walks around the block to the point were neighbors will actually be willing to write letters saying that they saw you do it.

You haven't said anything about remembering your wife's birthday and anniversary and what you did to show your loved one she is appreciated and loved. That could be DQ for sure. As for "I've been real good" well, we'll let Santa decide that as he sits on one of the boards.

Finally
, overall I would say for a subjective point of view that you have decent chance but keep in mind that you're competing against every slug of a dad and husband in America so keep it to the grindstone. Regardless of the outcome, if you can look in the mirror every morning and know you did your best that will be your ultimate reward....because it's doubtful anyone else is going to thank you for the effort...the waiting for it is the worst part!

I wish you well and Merry Christmas.

Should add

I am great no matter what other forum members think because either I think I am great or my parents think I am great.

p.s. this should be moved to Off Topic

That was awesome! Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you!

Similar stats for me and I have not heard anything. I don't really want to think about plans B, C, or D just yet.

If you would just search the threads yourself, all your answers are there. Reindeer allergies are not waiverable.

Rock, you are sadly lacking in sports. I realize it is difficult at this late stage to make up for past inactivity but you can show a positive trend at least. So get that beer, get the cheese on the nachos, dive for the couch, and hit that remote NOW! There is weekend of great games on top of us as we speak.

Google "SEAL Dad exercise videos." (My tongue is firmly adhered to my interior cheek tissue.)

You obviously love your family. That is a LOA in my book. Work on getting the Nom from The Momma. And remember, if the Momma ain't Happy, ain't nobody Happy. That was the first thing my Husband taught our son after "Yes Dear". Merry Christmas to you and yours.

The question you must address is "What makes you stand out from all the other special little snowflakes?"

Are you the captain of your 12 ounce curl team?
How fast can you sprint starting at a fully reclined position to the fridge in order to grab and open a beer and then return back to the fully recline position in front of the tv?
Are you able to eat snacks without leaving a single crumb while watching your favorite sports team in a highly competitive and close game?
Have you completed all your tasks on the "honey to do list"? An empty list would be quite an accomplishment and would demonstrate a real can do attitude.

Maple, first, Merry Christmas. Now, to address the subject of your post, all you need to do is to follow the advice you gave another poster on another thread:

"In my opinion your [contributions] are middle of the road, and your CFA was unimpressive.

If you're an underrepresented minority it might be enough, but if not, realistically it's a longshot. One never knows until it's over.

As was mentioned, your competition comes into play. Most admitted will have better stats, so what do you have to offset your weaknesses?"

Of course, you can improve your chances significantly by making sure you are on your best behavior between now and Christmas Day. Santa is watching you with a jaundiced eye.

Well that was great!

I do have that terrible fault of calling it like I see it. Sometimes that gets me into hot water, like when my wife asked me if those jeans made her bottom look big. Oops. I probably need to post more rainbows and lollipops instead of my opinionated responses.

I'm trying to play nice, but the little devil in me sneaks out way too much. I hope not enough to get me on that naughty list.

Merry Christmas to all that have joined me on my holiday thread!

Have you ever balanced a checkbook? Have you ever had one too many beers?
These are questions to expect at your interview for the congressional nomination. Balancing a checkbook and counting your beers requires the use of high level math, and can benefit your application by showing you have a good math background. Be sure to emphasize how you will definitely count beers at the academy and I guarantee you will get a nomination.
If you want credentials to verify this information is correct, I am the second cousin twice removed of the mother of a son in law who had a friend who dropped out of BCT at USAFA when he discovered he had to do push-ups to earn a degree

Well, it seems you already know what your weak points are. For fitness, I would suggest working on the "shuttle garbage run" (try to hit between 7.8 and 20.19 seconds, depending on how much garbage there is) and possibly the "kneeling unwanted gift throw" (completely depends on what it is and how much you dislike it). I recommend an overhand approach for the latter. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Well Maplerock I think your chances will increase and maybe get you an LOA depending on a few things you have yet to answer.
1. Are you in the ironing or dry cleaner club? How about replacing the toilet paper roll team?
~ The boards look very highly at these memberships.
2. Where do you stand on getting your presents done early?
~ You know we always say don't wait until the 11th hr when it comes to deadlines, getting it done early is always best.
