Congratulations to c/o 2012 for earning their prop and wings.
Hope it all went well, and enjoy life as human being again.

Have pity on 2013 when we get here...:thumb:

Indeed congrats. Feels good to remember the ecstasy that they are feeling now. ;)

Hey Hornetguy, did you happen to snap a photo of my favorite Tiger Ten cadet getting his prop/wings? This mother can't wait to hear from them. I am so proud, we are just about bursting our own buttons here.

3 months to BCT
12 months to recognition!

soon it will be our turn!

Who is the class exemplar? I'm thinking it will be Arnold, but I was voting for Boyd. No one asked me, of course.:shake:

I am focusing on BCT, I wont even venture to look all the way to Recognition. Thats just too far away.

Haha basic? I need to keep my motivation up to GRADUATE first... Then, I will be looking to BCT :thumb:

No pictures are allowed during recognition except by squadron media reps. After they turn in the pictures to the wing rep, they are removed from the media sticks.

Hmmm, a very interesting and peculiar policy. Congratulations to the class.

It has several reasons. A couple are to prevent future classes from knowing the extent of recognition and to prevent the media from accusing us of mass hazing. We keep visitors from coming near the cadet area during that time period.

It seems to me that recognition is perhaps one of the biggest "hush hush" things at the academy. They don't want anyone but alumni to really know what it is so that they can really test the unrecognized 4 degrees and put them in a pressure cooker.

Just curious, what do the C3C's and C2C's do during these days? Is it relaxation time? Do they participate in the training?

This is a very slippery slope....Unfortunately when things are kept "behind closed doors" people, including the media will assume the worst. For all I know the AFA recognition could consist of sitting in a circle and singing Kumbaya, but when an organization starts making things "hidden" most will assume the worst.

The primary trainers are the 3 digs, 2 digs alternate between primary and supervisory roles. Firsties are mostly supervisory with some primary training.

You are correct of course, but we do ask that people trust our training and professionalism. We go to great extents in our training plans to make sure that it is not meaningless hazing. Can't prove that, but we'd rather have to answer to people annoyed at the secrecy for the experience it provides. It is FAR more than just senseless training and PT, some aspects of it are quite moving. Even from the upperclass side, seeing some parts of it again evoke some strong emotion. I guess I'm just asking to trust.

True. I wish I could show people more about Recognition, but it would spoil it for future cadets. It is likely the media would get an odd picture, and assume the worst about our "hazing."

Parents, ask your cadets about how certain theme rooms could be misinterpreted by the media, if they only had pictures. It could prove highly entertaining!

Then, there are certain traditions having to do with the last set of inspections that, if released, would spoil a moment of intense happiness for the 4 digs.
