My DD has her application complete with a Congressional nomination but got a DQ from Dodmerb for Anemia with a count of 11.8. Dodmerb said that if she is competitive that USNA will give her a waiver. The online portal says Pending review but Medical incomplete. Anyone else had this happen and what should we do from here? She has been taking iron pills and Birth control to stop her cycle to build her iron up. It was low due to heavy menstrual cycle. Sent in remedials that was required back in October. Received Nomination December.

Regarding the waiver process, once Dodmerb issues the DQ, the service academy will EVALUATE the candidate for a waiver if he or she is competitive. It's difficult to say what medical issues each of the SA will grant a waiver for.

Is it correct that back in October remedials were requested, and then after the remedial process she was DQ?
I assume the USNA online portal says Medical incomplete" and Dodmerb says DQ.
For peace of mind and to make you feel comfortable that you have done everything, have DD send USNA admissions a quick email stating she is DQ for xxx and the USNA portal shows medical incomplete, ask if there is anything you need to do.

The waiver process is initiated by USNA. It is just a wait and see.

Thanks for responding! She is going to email admissions. She emailed her B&G Officer to get advice, but no reply yet.

Thank you! We will just wait and hopefully see a BFE soon. Thankfully she has plans B, C & D. She was DQ for NROTC.

Best wishes, I hope this all works out for you. I'm sure you're seeing a good doctor and all, you might consider a specialist just to make sure. A second opinion never hurts. Hope to see your DD on I day!

Thank you! I hope she gets to be there with her brother who is Class of 2017!
