Hi Everyone,
We were looking at the DoDMERB portal dashboard and noticed that even though our DD has applied to 3 SAs (USNA, USCGA and USMMA) and the NROTC only 1 SA (USNA) is listed as an "agency" requesting the medical review. Our DD has completed all the applications and optional activities (e.g. USCGA interview, etc.) and has packets scheduled for admissions board reviews. Feedback from those closely connected with each academy has been positive about our DD's qualifications for each academy.
Reliable sources close to the DoDMERB process tell us that
1. SAs' will only request medical if they consider the candidate viable for an appointment.
2. ROTC won't show up on the dashboard as requesting medical until they offer a scholarship.
From what we remember, USNA will automatically initiate the DoDMERB request after 1/2 of the application is completed. It's not clear about the other SAs. Our concern is that a lack of a request for medical by an "agency" may be an indicator that our DD is NOT a viable candidate in the eyes of the academy admissions teams. We would be interested in any additional insights into these observations and the SAs'/ROTC programs' request for medical/candidate viability relationship.
Thanks Everyone!
