National Waiting List

I recently received a letter from USMMA saying that I've been placed on the national waiting list and my portal status has been hold for over a month now. What exactly is the national waiting list and what does it mean for me? Is it bad?

Not bad at all. You have not been selected, but you still have a chance. They like your application, but have decided to wait to see all the apps before filling the class.

Not the news you'd like to hear, but you are still in the running.

If you're not a principal nominee from your state/district does that mean you automatically go into the national waiting list? And is there a certain number of applicants in this list or can they list as many as they want?
Thanks.

It means they filled the quota for your state. Now you will be ranked against all the other applicants in the national pool for the remaining slots. There is no limit to the number of qualified applicants put in the national pool. Many states do not fill their quota so after the application closes, there may be more spots. Hang tight, you most likely will be waiting till April.

NWL in MA - not too bummed, not too surprised either. Head held high, still in the game.

....in addition....it's a relief to know that DS is "academically qualified" .... 7th semester grades are out on Friday
