Hello.

I was wondering if anyone on here has insight and/or experience into the waiver process. (My condition is fairly minor and common.) I'm just waiting for the Waiver Authority to review my medical files. I've heard it could take anywhere from 30 days to a few months. Does giving the WA a call help at all? Just want to get some feedback. (I'm trying to not think about it too much, especially since I know the answer still could be no after a long wait, but I have had my eyes on the BFE for a very long time now.)

Thank you.

On a site note, congrats to all of the already appointed candidates! You deserve it!!

gisginy -- was at the same spot last year with my DS.

No -- I don't recommend you call the medical waiver authority. If they are working the waiver, sit tight. They will get to you when they can.

Are you certain you have been put forward for the medical waiver? A code on your DoDMERB portal may not be a true indicator based on our experience. Have you received an email or phone call or letter from USMA (not DoDMERB) telling you USMA is putting you forward for a waiver or that a waiver review is in work?

Yes, I am certain from correspondence with officials. Alas, looks like more waiting is in order. Thank you!
