My West Point Admissions representative emailed me today that my application is completed but it shows "unresolved" I looked at my portal and everything has been submitted. I emailed WP and haven't heard back yet. I'm anxious wondering what this could mean. Anyone have any idea why my file would show unresolved when my app is completed with a nomination on file too.

Well, just found out what the "unresolved" on my file means and it is pretty disappointing. I have the principle nomination for my district, I'm in Army ROTC on a 4 year scholarship at a University, made Deans list my first year of college, I passed PT with flying colors have a SAT score of 2000.. My file was competitive. I was taking high school Algebra in the 7th grade! But my 3rd semester of college transcripts shows two C's, which made my file "unresolved". I worked hard in these tough engineering classes but they just got the best of me- 2 C's left me with no offer of appointment. :eek2:

I did get asked if I would be interested in the Preparatory School. I'm praying that God will give me direction to attend the prep school or not:thumb:

GO TO THE PREP!

I’m not leaving a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship to attend prep school over two C’s. Especially, when I would still have to apply again to WP. If I was just graduating high school or could just enter WP after prep, then that might be a different story. If I decide to apply to WP again it will be as a college junior. I’m not losing my university standing unless it would be to go directly into WP.

I take full responsibility for my grades instead of being so active in my fraternity, volunteering, girls, going to games and being a part of campus life- knowing that I applied to WP I should have just concentrated only on classes but live & learn. Attending prep school isn’t the right decision for everyone, at this time it's not for me.

Well, with earning a $95k 4-year Army ROTC scholarship I say I’m on the right track. I was praying for WP but it's clearly not in my path.

Do some research on the Prep option. It is as close to a golden ticket to SA admissions as you can get.

I think your judgement is on target. While a high percentage of Prepsters get appointed, it is not guaranteed. You would still need to apply, get a nomination, etc. You would also need a backup plan just in case. Since you already have 2 years under your belt, you might be bored and under challenged at a prep school...think freshman year all over again. If your goal is to be an officer, you will be there in two years on your present course vice five for the prep option.

I received a letter and my portal is updated from WP admissions that the Admissions Committee qualified my file! WP was clear to tell me that I have the principle nomination. :) The WP letter stated that most appointments will be tendered between 26 February and 1 May 2016.

My liaison found out it was a clerical error that my file was "unresolved" and I should have never received an email.

Fantastic! I was surprised you were declined based on the info you provided. Onward and upward. Enjoy the ride!

That's great news! If you had low grades in basic college courses, that would be one thing...but these were sophomore level C's...which are a different matter altogether.
Hoping for the best for you...I have a soft spot for college applicants after my DS went through that process.

Agree with mom3boys. You have had a true roller coaster ride this past week, but you survived!!
Congratulations!
