Hi I was wondering if people who have received an Army or Navy ROTC scholarship could post their stats, such as your GPA, SAT scores, Physical fitness test, ect. I'm sure this information would be helpful for others who are still waiting to see if they received a scholarship, including myself.

DS not selected yet for either but I did happen to notice the wrong GPA was on his application so hopefully they will fix that since they already have the transcript tomorrow straight away so correct numbers will move him up to proper placement when they do the ranking awards at the end of the week. At least now I know one thing that might have had major reason for him not being high enough on the list last board...

Hey Brian, I received a 4-year scholarship offer to my top 3 schools for AROTC (1st Board). SAT was a 2060 SS, 1420 TP, I've taken 7 APs and GPA 97:100. For the ROTC PFT (minute PU SU 1M) I got 70 PU, 53 SU and a 5:28 Mile. 4yr Class President, 2 Sport Captain, 3yr Student Council Executive and I went to a American Legion Boys State and got Best Delegate. These were my best resume boosters. Let me know if I can help with anything else!

I was given a 4 year NROTC Scholarship to Notre Dame in September. 1920 SAT, 650 math, 660 reading, 610 writing. Varsity Cross country for 4 years and team captain. Varsity Swim Team for 3 years and team captain. Student Government President, Honors Council, I owned my own business, NHS. There is other extracurriculars, but some of them are not very common. I 75 push ups (max) 88 sit ups and a 6:14 mile, I was very disappointed by the run. 5 AP courses and a 3.7 GPQ unweighted and 4.17 weighted.

My DS was awarded an AROTC in the first round to his top 3 school choices (Univ of WY, Southern IL U-Carbondale, and Texas Tech) majoring in engineering. GPA 3.0, ACT 28, 3 sport varsity athlete, team captain for wrestling 3 years, football 1 year, 5th in state for wrestling, 6th in track 4x800 relay. 56 p/u, 56 s/u 6:23 mile. I think the variability really comes down to your score on the AROTC personality test and performance in the interview/subjective remarks from the PMS, along with your school choices. DS also used all the space available in the "additional remarks" section on the selection status page.

My DS was awarded a 4-year AROTC scholarship to his top three choice schools. His gpa unweighted 3.9, 8 AP classes total, 33 ACT, don't know his p/u or s/u but run was around 6:30, no varsity sports but...went to SLE at USMA last summer and Boys State, Eagle Scout, NHS, French Honor Society, Varsity Debate, worked a job last summer, Marching Band section leader for 3 years, Youth Orchestra Principal.

I just want to thank everyone for replying and congrats to everyone that sent their stats. I'm sure this is helpful for others out there including myself.

Wow man, congrats on Notre Dame, I was rejected VERY shortly after submitting my application (definitely a reach school). Was "Fighting Irish" your top choice? Best of luck to you, it has a GREAT NROTC program!

Thank you. It is my second choice to The Naval Academy. I am still waiting to hear from them though.

Hi there, try not to compare it all depends on your grades SAT leadership activities uniqueness & majors.

Best of luck to you! I was offered recruitment for rowing, and am still waiting to hear back from USMA (top choice) before I decide. Let me know when you hear back :)

My son did not receive a first board AROTC scholarship. But to give a perspective, here are his numbers. 3.8 gpa, ACT scores: M34, E31, S34, R30. Pres. of NHS. 3 yrs varsity baseball, baseball captain. 4 yrs varsity soccer, soccer captain. All district and all conference first teams in soccer. Held job throughout school years. Interview went well, and was told at interview that he would almost certainly be awarded a first board scholarship, but he wasn't. Just the way it goes. Subsequently he recieved a West Point appointment, and thus the ROTC scholarship is less likely to be utilized based on his current preference, but we are still somewhat puzzled. It's all good though; the process is what it is, and there are tons of exceptional applicants. Onward and upward.

Can I ask the major he is applying for??

You may. Mechanical engineering. And all schools he applied to are engineering schools.

I have a theory, which is based on suspicion only. Two of the top four schools he listed were Notre Dame and Vanderbilt, which he knows now were out of his range. Notre Dame was his #1 school. I told him not to do that. He disagreed. ....but I digress.

However, the second and third schools were Western Michigan and Univ of Michigan; both well within range, and easy admissions for him. Unfortunately it is not possible to change schools on the portal after the first board deadline.

I think school choices may have made a difference. We are optimistic he will get the scholarship this board, and cross fingers as it would be a nice option for him, and a nice achievement nevertheless. West Point is clearly the plan, especially now that he has his appointment, and he is still waiting on USNA too. I must say though, he was pretty fired up about attending Western Michigan and doing ROTC before realizing he didn't get the first board scholarship. Then he visited WP and is pretty stoked about that.

FYI, his essay was, in my opinion, outstanding. I would share it if he wins a scholarship, but think it would be poor form before.

Congrats on West Point;) hope he hears from USNA soon! From what I hear I don't think college plays a role on granting scholarship? Heard they reward scholarship first then go down school list to see if there is open spot? Anyway, guess it does not matter since he has USMA!

Thank you. That's what I thought about school choices effecting the award too. And maybe that is accurate.
Thanks for the congratulations. He is excited. The ROTC option is a great one too though, and having the option between academies and ROTC is the best scenario. But its fantastic to have his "current" first choice in the bag.

Well I just wanted to let everyone know that I did not receive a scholarship this board so do people who did win mind posting their stats?

I think that ACT/SAT is the single most important factor for ROTC/Academies. The "whole person" concept is inviting, but not realistic. If you don't have the scores, it is much less likely to get an appointment or scholarship. IMO.

Yea I have a 1740 SAT 1190(m+cr) and I believe it's the weakest part of my application but idk if it's what's preventing me from getting a scholarship
