LOA and Medical

So I recently received a LOA from the USNA. They said once they see I'm medically qualified (no idea when that will be ready - Medical exam was Jan 13, DoDMERB website says packet was received Jan 28) they will officially offer me Appointment. This must be done before Feb 19th.
If it turns out I'm not qualified (somehow, I don't see what would cause that other than past health issues from when I was around 12 I believe) will I receive a Medical waiver?

I dont think anyone could say for certain, but considering that you have an LOA, I think it would be very, very unlikely that USNA would not request a medical waiver.
 
Why do you say it must be done by the 19th? If you have done everything they have requested it's up to USNA to make a waiver decision. They will make that decision when they get to you in the large pile.

They sent me an email saying that they offered me a LOA, and they said in order to keep that status of a guaranteed Offer of Appointment is to have my medical status (and thus, my full application) done by February 19th, otherwise that offer may not be valid after that point.
 
If you have done everything you can on your end, as in submitted all requested paperwork, you are fine. If it's action from USNA to make a waiver decision, then they will get to it, when they get to it.

Do you know how long medical exam results usually take? On the USNA website it says approximately one month but I have seen stuff about 10 days (including my packet from the DoDMERB and the DoDMETS), but ten days from what?

Medical waivers are on a case-by-case basis. If you aren't qualified, then (a) the issue must be waiverable and (b) the Superintendent must grant the waiver. If you are medically qualified, then there is no issue. I believe the 10 days would be after they received all the documents/information they need to make a determination...but like USNA says, it could be upwards of a month.

I can't help but chuckle a little ;-) You worry too much my friend. With your CFA stats your health can't be that bad, and besides, nothing you can change at this point anyway. What happened when you were 12 happened, worrying won't change that.

How bad was it? Everyone has injuries and such. Only thing you can do at this point is keep working on plan B just in case and do whatever they request.

DS had to get a letter from his doctor explaining that an acute bout of severe constipation was taken care of and not an issue. They are apparently thorough there but seem to be fair.

I fully expect to see you there on I-day. Work on the plan B just in case, and go take a deep breath.

I had sleep apnea when I was 11. I had tonsilitis and was cured. The last health condition I had was a form of Bronchitis I got two or three years ago. I was put on an inhaler that, since then, I have not had to touch. I have no breathing problems, otherwise I would not be able to run long distance. No problems at all for the past two years, as I said before.
 
It's not up to me and I'm not an expert, but I wouldn't be losing any sleep over this.
