My DD requested a CVW last year and has not heard back. Her AC submitted her name for Spring. DD received no email invitation. Does no CVW usually mean no appointment?

Not necessarily. Many factors can influence an invite being extended or not being extended.

I've been talking to some of the appointed students in this year's class, and some of them have not received/been granted CVW's, especially for this spring. 2 weeks ago, I got a CVW invite out of the blue, which was very nice, as I was unable to attend the one I was invited to this past fall. There are however, a few appointees for this years class who emailed their AC's, got received a response something along these lines: The spring CVW's are mainly intended for juniors in high school, however your name has been submitted and we will do our best to accommodate you.
One thing i've learned during this process is to not try to read too far into things, as it leads to far too much worrying.

Thanks Craig and MABlue. Good advice! Hope DD gets a CVW!

It is too early in the appointment process to read into anything. From what I understand, CVW is more of a recruiting event than a weekend orientation for admitted students. That said, it is likely your DD will receive a CVW later this semester.

How many CVW invites are issued?/Does anyone know how they choose which juniors to extend offers to?

I'm a junior & went to the CVW on Jan 28. There were approx. 150 that attended. I was invited before my NASS app went in.
