Friday is the admissions deadline. What if you are still awaiting waiver?

Application has been in and complete (with nom), and updated, for quiet some time. I can see there has been action/changes on DODMERB portal. But DS is still DQ, still waiting on waiver.

What if he is not "waiver approved" before Friday the deadline? anyone understand the mystery of waivers? getting nervous for him…..

Usually, the medical waiver deadline is April 15th. If the candidate is the "winner" for a specific nomination slate and is just waiting on that waiver, admissions will hold that vacancy until a final decision on the waiver is made or the deadline passes. If the candidate is hoping for a spot on the NWL, they may find that all the spots are gone by the time that their waiver is complete.

My DS is also waiting on a waiver. Does anyone know if the waiver comes through too late for an appointment, does it carry over if DS applies again next year? Is it common for waivers to be given after all slots are filled?

Polly59 - In same boat. That is the same question I had. Does the waiver carry over to the next year if they reapply?

Additionally, it is my understanding that the waiver is important because you cannot be offered civil prep without it. Therefore, it might make sense that a waiver be granted after all slots are filled.

I was thinking it might, since I believe DODMERB exam is good for 2 years. So if the waiver is a result of the DODMERB process, hopefully it would carry over as well.

FYI- I spoke to USMA today. Waiver does not Cary over...
