Seeing as the majority of appointments come out between Feb. 1 and April 15th, we have just finished the first 30 day window. Hoping for a March appointment for my son... then "freak out" time starts on April Fools Day! :jump1:

Looks like my DS is now leaning towards NROTC more than USNA. I think very likely he will forgo USNA even if he gets it and will go for NROTC. He wants to have a little bit more of a college life. But will wait and see, if in the first place he gets in USNA. He requires a waiver, and the process has started for NROTC but still waiting on USNA. :)

TWE==Thin White Envelope (most often a turn down letter) Check out the thread that list some if not all of the military lingo.

Still waiting as well! I looked into it and my congressional district sleight is yet to be reviewed, so I'm still in the running! I have to commit to West Point by April 15, will I be notified as Accepted, or denied to USNA by then? Is a wait list made after the April 15 deadline?

Some days the wait is unbearable, other days I know it's just part of the process :) So excited to know where my boy will be next year - I know he has great things in store!

How can you tell if your slate has been reviewed or not? Haven't all slates been reviewed by now?

Last year DS was notified of wait list status around the 10th or so of April. I don't recall the exact date. It came in a TWE. Good luck!!!

How do you tell if your congressional district's slate has been reviewed? Did you have to call your MOC's office?

You won't know. And not sure they would even tell you if they did call.

The large majority of USNA candidates know by April 15th. For those who don't they are usually informed that they are on the wait list or what is unique about their situation. You have nearly 6 weeks. Hang in there.

If a Candidate is wait listed, typically how long before they find out a definite answer.

I don't think anyone knows if they are wait listed yet....so your question is hypothetical. Those waitlisted will get a Q&A letter or email.

My DS got a TWE March from USAFA the same week he received his MO ROTC scholarship to George Washington University were he applied for his plan B. My DS graduated high school May 17 , 2014 after graduation on May 22,2014 he received an email from USAFA and phone call from MOC for an appointment to USAFA for the Class of 2018.Needless to say I have one very happy Cadet in USAFA who is now living his dream.

We had one sponsor son receive a wait list letter on a Friday, appointment the following Thursday, all in March. Another received one in April, received appointment first week of June.
Each situation is unique as the class comes together, declinations come in and vacancies are filled.
