I was just wondering if anyone from New York has been accepted into USMA yet?

My DS just got a letter indicating his file has qualified. Now we wait. Long Island.

I know of at least one child of faculty who has received an appointment. Probably a couple more. Don't know if they got congressional appointments.

I know of three appointments from NY-01 if that helps. Best of luck!

Just checked: NY 01, 02, 04, 06 and 20 - from what I can see so far - Good luck!

Candidates who are offspring of USMA faculty are most likely residents of other states and got their noms from a place other than New York. No military member in their right mind would keep NY as their HOR unless they had absolutely no where else to claim!

But they don't need to get nominations from their parent's state. Can be their state. Most offspring of USMA faculty probably have NY State driver's licenses so could qualify for NY state residency for the NOMs.

If one was trying to get into USMA and had their choice of NY nom or nom from almost anywhere else (except for perhaps VA), trying from NY would not make much sense. Stick with SD or ID whenever possible. (And I know lots of people who did!)

Kind of depends on the parent's residency.
When our DD initially applied she had the choice of three states. TX (our residency), KY (we were stationed at Ft Campbell and had a KY mailing address), or TN (our house was actually located on the TN side of Ft Campbell and our DD had a TN driver's license). It turned out that TN was the most advantageous, so she went that route. She ended up declining the nomination and enlisted instead. So I think it does depend on your state residency.

My DD also mentioned enlisting. In your opinion and have gone through this...what are your thoughts. You can PM me.
