Hey I'm an ms2 cadet and I got accepted to an all summer long project go program, but my cadre keeps telling me I might not be able to go because of ciet, and I have to get excused by brigade to do it. What are the chances of me getting excused from ciet?

My gut tells me that since Project Go (although a great program) is not an AROTC program, if you can't do both, you'll be going to CIET.

I'm no expert on it, but I was able to be excused from CIET due to an internship. Thankfully, CC does make the connection that folks planning on going the Reserve/Guard route are trying to land jobs out of college; thus meaning internships between now and then.

I can't say for sure whether Project GO will have a bigger priority over CIET --> your best bet is to talk to Cadre about it.

Good luck.

I think if you're a contracted MS2 who wants to compete for AD you'll be going to CIET. Btw project go does not give you points on the OML

I believe CIET is mandatory for contracted cadets. You will need to do CIET summer and CLC next summer. At least this is what DS had to do. If others are reading plan only having the summer after your freshman year free to not be interrupted by AROTC training. Welcome to the new AROTC.

It's mandatory, unless you have a legitimate excuse. I'm contracted, but like I said, I had an internship and was excused from it. I know a decent chunk of people had internship/summer classes/jobs that were excused from doing it as well.

Granted this was for last year - I'm not sure if things have changed since then.

....... to be frank though, after talking to my peers, it was honestly a waste of time, at least for PSU cadets. Yeah sure, you get to go to the range, CS chamber etc - but other than that - everything else they did down there was stuff that was already taught to us.

Just my two cents.
