I just got my ACT score report back from the Feb 6th ACT. I completed my NASS applications in January. Should I send admissions an email with my ACT scores?
Thanks

We just got back in from Annapolis for the CVW. Folks from Admissions running the CVW when asked that very question, said "Yes, absolutely update your new ACT/SAT scores to admissions for NASS."

I got my information from LT Jordan Fogler, Plans and Programs Manager from Office of Admissions in charge (for the last time, as he moves on) the CVW program. The exact question of the OP was asked in a Q&A to LT Fogler in front of many, many folks and kids.

So it is permissible to Contact Admissions to Update SAT/ACT for NASS. (BTW, Army's SLE program uses an update-able portal for the USMA equivalent of the NASS)

The Acceptance Email sent to an NASS applicant provides the email of a respective Regional Admissions Counselor designated for the NASS region he/she comes from. My DD's NASS Regionall Admissions Counselor is also my DS's USNA Regional Admissions Counselor for Class of 2020.

time2, I think the proper context for that statement you pulled up is relative to the act of hitting the "submission" button for the NASS application once filled out and ready to go. Unlike a 'real' Admissions to USNA Application in a portal, the NASS is not using an update-able Portal. So in context, yup, ONCE AN APPLICATION IS SUBMITTED that's it for doing it again with that Form.

What it says in full from the Grey Box:

Ensure that you verify the accuracy of your completed application and print a copy for your records prior to submitting.
When you select “Submit”, the application module will check your data entered for format errors and confirm your desire to submit an application. Continue the submission by confirming.
A message in green letters that reads “SUCCESS” will confirm your successful submission of an application.
THE ABSENCE OF THIS MESSAGE INDICATES A FAILED SUBMISSION.
ONCE AN APPLICATION IS SUBMITTED, GRADE INFORMATION, TEST SCORES, AND EXTRACURRICULAR PARTICIPATION CANNOT BE MODIFIED OR SUPPLEMENTED.

I guess the applicant can do whatever they like, but 'cannot be modified' seems clear to me and to others in various prior threads when this has been asked in the past. I wasn't at the session, but perhaps they misunderstood the question as referring to the USNA application which CAN be updated after submission.

I will let you know how it works out as my DD is updating her NASS app (submitted with PSAT scores) with newly arrived Jan 23rd SAT scores .

On the confirmation email you received after submitting your NASS app, there is an email link to your USNA regional admissions counselor. All you need to do is email that person with your updated data and they will update your app for you.

I got a 25 the ACT (first try) that I took at the beginning of February....should I email those scores in? Or would it just hurt my application for NASS...I'm taking the ACT many more times also. Thank you!!

If it were me I would send them in, some kids don't have any scores to report, so at least they see you've taken it....and you don't need a perfect ACT to get into NASS or the Naval Academy

Whelp, the swapping in of her excellent January 23rd SAT scores to replace last year's 'ok' PSAT scores (by emailing her USNA regional admissions counselor) has apparently worked.

My DD was just accepted for the NASS Session 2, a few minutes ago.

There is actually no way of knowing that the change in scores triggered an acceptance to NASS unless they specifically said that. NASS admissions come out all the time right now and it could be purely conincidence in timing.

Concur with NavyHoops!

Email received :

"Good Afternoon,

I have updated your application.

Very Respectfully,
Axxx Axxxxxx

Admissions Counselor (XX Region)
United States Naval Academy

My wife and I are very attuned about teaching our kids that ‘but for the grace of God, go you’; we hate making additional work for anyone. . ..We had no intention of doing anything else after we sent her NASS application (our DD is 16 ) into Admission on January 14th. It was only after hearing Lt. Folger’s response to a question at the February 25th CVW to do a SAT update did we allow our daughter to send her email. FWIW, the difference in DD's old PSAT vs. the new SAT scores was very significant, IMHO; with Math going from ~57 (PSAT scoring) to 640 (SAT ).

(BTW - Lt. Axxxxxx is one heck of a Regional Admissions Counselor; I was able to talk briefly with her last year at a CVW and I was most impressed with her passion and in-depth knowledge of the Admissions labyrinth. )
