BFE for USAFA?

Does USAFA appointees get a BFE similar to USMA for being accepted? or is it just a simple letter on your portal?
 
I'm kind of bummed about this for our DS. Was hoping for something nice to display at his grad party.
 
I agree. Perhaps print and frame the letter.

I'm sure it saves some costs, but I can tell you, the appointment from West Point is beautiful, and is a really nice touch. I won't get into the economic wisdom of doing them, but in our household it was a huge hit. AROTC has a very nice presentation as well.
 
USAFA is sending a very nice certificate in a padded folder to your appointee's ALO. The idea is for the ALO to present him with the certificate at his HS recognition ceremony. Make sure you contact his ALO if you don't hear from him about the ceremony -- sometimes the ALO can miss the opportunity.

The old "BFE" from USAFA was nothing more than instructions and forms that needed to be completed. That is all accomplished online today.

Yup ALO came to my DD Senior Awards Ceremony, and presented her with the acceptance. Very similar to what is mailed to you via USNA and USCGA.
 
Just got back from my ALO, yes we do receive a BFE! It will come in the mail apparently.
 
We havent spoken with the ALO but I will have my DS ask him. I did speak with the congressman's office today and was told they would be sending someone to DSs gig at school.

I believe your ALO is not correct. Everything is done online. Except for the very nice Appointment Letter and folder that is typically presented by your ALO or congressional representative at your HS recognition event. It is very nice and we displayed it at DS's HS graduation party.
