My son received an email last week that his application was closed and under review by the cadet evaluation board. We are going nuts... checking forums, email, vms, mail... asking CGA cadets we know... 2nd week of March is almost done... is he done? Is it true that at this point is all just rejections and that we will get one of those gloomy emails by the end of the day on 3/31.... or is there still hope...??

CCEB are readers (faculty, staff, coaches) who review the completed applications. They are the screeners to see if a student is qualified and competitive. The ones they deem qualified and competitive they send to the admissions board who then decides on either offering appointment, declining, wait list, or CGAS.

Until the TWE comes in, the applicant is still in the game. Hang in there...it could be as late as the end of April.

It says April 1st is the deadline for finding out, I'm just wondering how many appointments are still left?

You are still in the game. The final rounds of reviews are likely taking place in the next two weeks. April 1 is the date all regular admissions should be published. (There is a possibility that waitlisted applicants may have to wait longer until the appointed applicants make their decisions. (May 1 deadline).

If you haven't heard one way or the other yet, you are "still in the game". April 1 is close... Hang in there, and have a solid Plan B or C in place just to be sure.

Thanks! We'll keep waiting, praying and crossing fingers....

Thanks Grevar. We will do.

The short answer is there are an appropriate number of appointments remaining for the last Admissions Committee which will be held next week. Unlike the other service academies, where I understand they can/may "run out" of appointments to give before all applications are reviewed, we always have at least one appointment left when the last application is reviewed.
