Numbers of slots available?

DS is in the same boat and no one knows but admissions. It goes by state and then NWL. MA has 5 spots. There is one on the MA appointee list but that is really meaningless for all intents and purposes. I have looked at prior years and this week and the next should be revealing. Prayers will continue until further notice. Best wishes!

I find it interesting that in the old days before the Internet and portals, we were informed by snail mail of our standing in both state and national lists. . . I guess you trade off one convenience for another. Was just as nerve wracking, I imagine. Since I was passed over the first round of appointments, but then quickly offered one as an alternate, I was saved much of the drama. . . good luck to all. . .

how long should a candidate be on hold before she knows she or he was denied or appointed? my daughter still waiting for hold status in Colorado

My daughter is still app on file. They still will go through those before getting back to hold,I would assume.

Hard to be on hold that long! DD had her stuff in by end of January. However, got a call at end of February that our counselor had forgotten to include a letter and they had been waiting on that. Our counselor was out for maternity leave and someone else filled in for her and so we have been waiting much longer than should have. Plus DD needed medical waiver and that just came through. The wait is killing me! DD handling it much better than mom!

DS= Dear Son :) Coach went to bat for my son too. Not sure how much that counts since this is our first trip on this thrilling ride! GOOD LUCK!! (I will see if I can find the stickie that lists all of the acronyms. I literally spent an entire day googling BFE and TWE last January - Big Fat Envelope/Thin White Envelope)

I am not sure how much it helps in admissions. Being D3 school, admissions are supposed to be the same for everyone. However, many other D3 schools have contacted DD with academic scholarships, which are reserved for athletic recruits. Not exactly treated equally there, either. I think it also depends on where the child is on the recruiting list. Coaches have to rank the players as to how much they are needed. DD is ranked 1 for her sport, but we haven't heard anything yet.

If you haven't heard back by the day after Indoc st

Even more important is FWE

The input of the rowing coach will have little to no bearing on their admissions decision, seriously. Rowing is not at all a reason to come to Kings Point. I know that many of the current rowing team members basically treat it as a joke/pastime and couldn't care less about being competitive.

@MMA19kid 1. I was asked a direct question which I answered to the best of my ability 2. My son wants to go to KP to become a merchant mariner or perhaps become a Naval officer. If he can participate in a sport he loves at the same time, that's a bonus. I will disregard the rest of your comments since they have no bearing on the original comment, question, or answer. Best to you.

FYI...I looked through the course catalog last night. PDF form from webpage. It said that applicants are told by April 10. Of course, if they put you on NWL, it could be after May 1 when they get back the appointment declines. But for those of us who are still "app on file" the waiting SHOULD be coming to a close. https://www.usmma.edu/sites/usmma.edu/files/docs/2015-2016 USMMA Catalog.pdf

My admissions officer informed me that every applicant would know of their status by April 15th.
