Hello, I have been appointed for USAFA Class of 2020, however I did not notice the Criminal Records Review Form under the portal, and it said that the deadline to submit it was March 30th. Will my acceptance be revoked?

What my DD was told....If there is anything left out of your file they take this as if you are not or no longer interested. Most ALOs we were told give this advice to give you the "out" incase you have a parent or someone pressuring you and you really don't want to go. I would check with your councilor at USAFA, maybe they can fix it.*shrug*

Check with your USAFA councilor, they will have the way to fix or not fix it.

How were you offered an appointment if your file wasn't complete?

The permission for criminal background check opens on the portal as soon as the appointment is offered. DD had just over 2 weeks to submit.

Big lesson to all offered appointments...pay attention to due dates on all forms on the portal!

Sign it and upload it ASAP. You will be fine. USAFA will not revoke your appointment for being a few days late with your Records Release.

I actually mailed it so it should be there soon, and I already listed that it was mailed to the academy, since they had an option for that

This happened to me also, I turned it in two days after and they haven't said anything to me so I think I am fine

Call me paranoid, but I would be uploading it to be redundant. Then I would be making a phone to call to follow-up. There is a reason why people FEDEX overnight things with a signature required. Right now, your document could be sitting in the wrong box, on someone's desk buried, etc. I personally don't trust the mail with important correspondence.

I totally agree with this, when DD's transcripts were being sent in via snail mail I had over nighted her citizenship papers via FedEx, I followed up with a phone call when it didn't show up on her portal. Somehow FedEx dropped it at wrong office. But transcripts never showed up not till the 4th time and that's because even though school snail mailed again they also gave me a copy which I FedEx.

Her application would have been complete for possible early acceptance Nov1, I guess we'll never know had it been done in time if she would have had the appointment or not? Still waiting

DD faxed hers and it showed received in her portal in under an hour.

The paperwork was made available the day she was appointed

But it has not been listed under my portal that my Criminal Records Consent Form has been received.

In the future, don't send anything to USAFA without a tracking number. The USPS can put a tracking number/bar code on even first class mail. Definitely Fedex and UPS will even tell you who signed for it

If you fax it, save the confirmation page.

Not sure when you mailed it - give it a few days and if not posted call USAFA to follow-up

My guess is they get a lot of mail and it takes some time to process it.

Just saw the letter!! If I fax it in tonight will they withdraw my appointment?
